Cuttlefish

The other evening my boyfriend cooked the most amazing dinner at home, cuttlefish! It felt just like we were back in Tenerife for a second eating cuttlefish at that lovely restaurant in Garachico…We bought it fresh and fried it in the pan with oliveoil for a few minutes and served it with potatoes and garlic/parsley/oil sauce, and had some bread on the side, (perfect to dip in the sauce)! It’s really nice to try new things at home and this was definitely my favourite so far 🙂

Miss Sushi

I had a sushi craving (not surprisingly) last week and went with my sister &Co to have dinner in Miss Sushi, the pink sushi place. Everything really is pink inside, big pink sofas and chairs, almost a little too much of pink but anyway the sushi is really amazing! We had a nice last evening together, as a week of visit always goes too fast.

Sunday

Today it’s Sant Jordi here in Catalunya, a big celebration day where girls get roses and guys gets a book. My boyfriend went to buy baguette for breakfast and came back with a beautiful red rose, so sweet! I don’t know the exact story about this day but it’s a saint and a story about a dragon and a princess, and people celebrate it everywhere on the streets.

I thought these little sant jordi pastries was so cute, they are called “cronut” which is a mix of a donut and a croissant 🙂

Today we spent some hours at the beach in a beachbar having a soda and a pizza just taking some sun and relaxing with my sister. It was really crowded and the beach were full of people playing volleyball or just taking sun in bikini already. We ended the evening with some shopping as all stores were open due to this day 🙂

Saturday

Yesterday we had a second tapas night and we went to Gracia which is a cute and hipp area in BCN. First we did a little tour as all shops close at 22 so I showed my favourite little “rasberryplaces” from when I used to live there but a lot has also changed so we discovered a lot of new things. We found a pinchos bar in Calle Verdi that was supercrowded but we were lucky and found 3 seats in the bar. The place was really simple with loud cuban music but with good tapas and nice service. I tried chicken skewers with guacamole and yoghurt sauce, hot shrimp with tahini sauce and grilled artichoke, patatas bravas with superspicy sauce and smoked salmon with peppers, it was all supergood. We sat there a few hours eating and had the idea to go for a icrecream as dessert but we just couldn’t eat anything else so we just walked back to the centre and had a walk to El Nacional, but it was soo crowded so we didn’t stay there. I was so sleepy so I took a taxi home and watched some TV 🙂

Tapas night

Yesterday evening my sister and her boyfriend came to visit us in lovely Barcelona so we decided to go out and have tapas at their favourite tapas place; Cerveceria Catalana. Our meeting point was Gaudis house-Casa Batllo (easy to find) and as it is Sant Jordi on Sunday they had decorated the building with lots of red roses, it was really beautiful and lots of people around taking pictures.

We used to eat in this tapas place a lot in the past, my family really loves the tapas they have, (I also have one of my favourite tapas in there: fried camembert on a stick covered in peanuts and marmelade), but even though it is a big place, the waiting time to get a table is always one hour (at least), so you can imagine how touristic the place really is. The lady told us it will take one hour to get a table, but in the end it almost took two hours! We were just waiting and waiting and even though I thought time went really fast it was relieving when they finally gave us a table as we were starving 🙂 We had fried chocos, patatas bravas, camembert, escalivada with goatcheese, montaditos with crab and some other salads. I think it’s a good place to try a little bit of everything without spending too much and the atmosphere is cozy. Also a plus is that they close 01.30 so as we started eating around 23 we didn’t had to eat in a hurry 🙂

Spa

The other day me and my boyfriend went to a spa at a ****hotel to “destress” a little. We have been staying at this hotel before so we knew the spa was good when we bought it, and it was only 19 euro for 2 buying it online! It’s a nice way to relax the body and mind a little in between stressful days 🙂 Just when I entered the spa I already felt so relaxed as the smell of the pools hit my face and the hammam minth smell that I just love made me feel so relaxed!

The spa is really good, they have “stonewalking”, nordic icebath, a session of different showers and pressures of water that you have to walk through, iceroom, hammam sauna and regular sauna, a pool with masagebeds under water and jacuzzis, and then jacuzziz on the side and sunbeds and a dark relaxroom with hot massagebeds. My boyfriend spotted a former FC Barcelona player in the spa so that was also fun 🙂

When we walked home I was sooo relaxed in my body and had to hydrate myself with a frozen yoghurt! And off course when you are feeling so relaxed you don’t really feel like cooking so my boyfriend ordered my favourite: sushi!
