Sunday

On Sunday we drove early to Castelldefels and spent the whole day at the beach with the family and our friends came by. For me it was probably one of the warmest days so far so I was in the water a lot to cool down, even though the sea water now actually is quite warm πŸ™‚ We had a lovely day and had dinner at one of the beachbars, it was really good squids and patatas bravas and something I really like called baba ganoush which is like humus but with aubergine instead. I really enjoy being at the beach this year and I feel so lucky having all these beautiful places around us.

Summer days

The summer is flying away and it’s soon going to be August! I feel like I didn’t blog in a long time so I will probably start posting a lot soon πŸ™‚ We had a nice summer day with some friends outside Barcelona lastΒ Saturday having dinner and then enjoying their pool a little. (It’s definitely on our future-house-to-be-dream-list to have a pool and a little garden :))

We spent the Sunday afternoon at the beach in Barcelona which was nice but the weather was actually very strange, windy and cloudy, not at all the typical Barcelona weather and as soon as we started to walk home it started to rain, but it was lovely with some drops cuz it was so hot! Lately it’s very humid in BCN and those days it’s even too hot to stay at the beach so I didn’t mind some wind πŸ™‚

Sunday evening we went to have dinner out and ended up in a nice hamburger restaurant by the harbour (and also had one of the most delicious patatas bravas I ever tried). It started to rain like crazy so we were happy we found this place just at the right time πŸ™‚

Weight goals

So to follow up on my post from end of June about my goals to gain weight, I am really happy to write that I’ve now gained 1 kilo. I have now reached 48 something kilos and still on my way to reach 55 kilos. What I think I have done differently, is to eat more and not thinking too much what I am eating, (but that doesn’t mean I eat only candy and chips) but sometimes I treat myself with some nice desserts and always dark chocolate πŸ™‚ We had so delicious food in Tenerife with a lot of fresh fish, potatoes, avocado, fruits and bread but almost only home cooked fresh food which is the best and healthiest. And some tapas night with ham, foie gras, cheeses and wine to πŸ™‚

Bananafarm

It’s so nice to spend a few days on the banana farm after being on the beach for 9 days πŸ™‚ The weather is not the same though, it is definitely “colder” than in the south of Tenerife but I actually enjoy that for now because when we go back to Barcelona next week it’s going to be HOT! The feeling of being surrounded by this beautiful nature is amazing and I do believe it “re-charges” your batteries as nature is so disonnecting. Nature is so important for me as I grew up on the country side in Sweden and we don’t have so much “green” in Barcelona so I really enjoy walking around on the bananafarm whilst we are here and there is always new fruits and flowers to discover. Yesterday we made a barbecue in the evening and had a big family dinner (as now we are so many). The food was so tasty and sitting outside in the garden is just the best feeling when having dinner πŸ™‚

Thursday

The days are flying by and we’ve already been here 6 days! But even though the days goes fast I feel that we do so many things everyday, like really enjoying a “full day” by waking up early (around 09.00) having breakfast together with the family, then pack ourselves to the beach and spend a few hours there playing with the kids, go home to have lunch together and relax a bit at home, and then sometimes we go to the pool with the kids in the evening. This morning we went on a powerwalk again for an hour and we went a little bit further then the other day and found this amazing natural pool in the sea. It’s amazingly beautiful and I can’t wait to go back to try the sea pool. This island has a lot of “natural pools” in the sea and you just have to go looking to find them πŸ™‚

Paella

So we have had a delicious sea food lunch everyday since we came and I just love the Canarian food so much that I would love to eat this food everyday. Sea food is so healthy and there is nothing better than fresh fish just coming from the sea (not frozen from the store which is normally the case). We’ve had fried sardines with potatoes and mojo, octopus a la gallega style, fried squids and the most tasty paella with lots of seafood such as mussels, shrimps and crabs. I think I am eating more then ever πŸ™‚

Goals

So I’m really hoping that I will gain some weight on this holiday as the scale showed 47 kilos last week and that is really way to little. Before my pregnancy I was at least 52 kilos and I even then I thought that was too little, and then after the pregnancy I went down to 49, but I really don’t understand how I can go so low to 47? I am thinking it could be two things that stops me from gaining weight; one is that I may have too little iron again and I will definitely go and check that when I come back, and second, they say that grief can really mess up your metabolism and I think that is definitely true. I am starting to get a bit frustrated as I feel like I eat whatever I want and I still don’t gain a extra kilo. At the same time I’m trying to stay patient as I think stressing about it too much can also stop me from gaining weight. My goal is to weight 50 kilos before August and hopefully 52 in September. In Tenerife we eat so good food and a lot of bread so I hope the bread makes me gain weight at least πŸ™‚
