Nutella cheesecake

Today I “baked” a cheesecake from a new receipe I found online with nutella! It was super easy to make actually, it took me about 15 minutes to first crush all the digestive crackers to crumbles and mix with butter, then just mix the nutella with philadelphia cheese and glace sugar, put everything in the fridge for 2 hours and sprinkle coconut on top and then it was ready. I honestly think it was way to sweet for my taste as I am more a dark chocolate fan and I like sweet desserts but with something sour that “tones the sweet down”. I think next time I will do a lemon pie 🙂

Arroz a la Cubana

I was just looking back at some photos from our past times in Tenerife and came across this dish that I tried for the first time there: Arroz La Cubana. His mum cooked it with “handmade” fries (nothing frozen, just natural potatoes), fried banana, fried egg (from the farm) and cooked rice. It was really delicious and I actually liked the combinations of rice and fries even for some people it may sound a bit strange.. and fried banana is always very yummy 🙂

Banana icecream

A healthy icecream option I make sometimes is homemade banana icecream. It’s delicious and has only one ingredient; bananas! It’s so easy and you only need three things to make it: 1: riped bananas (due to they have more flavour), 2: a plastic box for the freezer, 3: a handmixer or a blender. I always cut the bananas in small pieces and put in the freezer and when they are more or less frozen I use a handmixer because it goes faster (and less dishes) and I just mix until it has a creamy consistent and then it’s ready to eat 🙂 I think it taste lovely on it’s own, but it’s possible to add cacao, coconut or whatever flavour you want to add. Tonight’s dessert 🙂

The other day I read that popcorn is one of the few new members of superfood. I never thought that popcorn were unhealthy (only the sugar ones) but on the other side I didn’t expected it to be so beneficial for our health. I really love popcorn and the other day when we went to the cinema it felt wrong not to buy popcorn, because it fits so good together with a movie. The only thing is that you need to pop the popcorn yourself in a pan and without any oil and with as little salt as possible for the popcorn to benefit your health. Apparently popcorn are loaded with antioxidants, it lowers the blood pressure, contains B-vitamins and lowers bad cholesterol. Popcorn is a whole grain (unprocessed) and in recent studies it has even showed to prevent cancer and heart diseases. So I think it’s the perfect snack we can enjoy without feeling guilty eating too much 🙂

These cheddarpopcorn are definitely the most tasty popcorn I have tried (but they don’t sell them here in Spain)

Good morning! I can’t believe I’m up so early and blogging 🙂 Woke up at 06.30 and started with my old routine again; hot water with lemon and honey before breakfast, and it was my boyfriends idea so I love that he also drinks it now so I have a reason to wake up before he goes to work and prepare it. In the past I used to drink this every morning and I always got compliments on my skin so I am happy to start with it again and hopefully my skin will look much better as well.

About my new routine with lemonwater, it’s just so beneficial for your body and it’s just half of a lemon and you can add honey if you want or cinnamon, ginger or just mix all of the ingredients, the water should not be boiling hot as then it actually takes away most benefits. The lemonwater works to flush out lots of toxins from the body and it’s especially good just after we wake up so it’s detoxifying before we start our new day. It’s also diuretic so it eliminates extra fluids in the body, it increases the metabolism which means that it actually can burn fat, it increase protection for allergies such as pollen, it relieves soar throat, cough and constipation and it can help to prevent urineinfections and acne. It really is a cheap and easy way to detox your body 🙂

If I have some lemon left over I also mix it with sugar to exfoliate my face once a week and after I put on some coconutoil to feel supermoisturized.

It’s finally strawberry season in Spain so today I bought the first ones. I love strawberries especially dipped in chocolate but what I also love is strawberries in a salad. My own favourite is to mix them with honey, balsamvinegar, olive oil and salt, it probably sounds strange but I swear it’s a perfect combination of flavours for any salad. They are full of C vitamins and iron, which I need to eat a lot of now to prevent having anemia again.

Todays lunch; salad, salmon, strawberries, almonds and black grapes

On my boyfriends parents farm they grow a lot of avocadotrees and I’m lucky that always get a bag full of avocado when we go home, maybe not this time since our suitcases are pretty full, but if we have a kilo or two under the limit we can bring a few. It’s so easy to cook with avocado because it fits with most food and there is a lot of variety of dishes. I love avocado on it’s own but I prefer to eat it in a good salad or on a toast instead of butter, or as a snack as guacamole with chips. I also use it for facemasks, just a spoon that I mix with oliveoil or lemon and let it dry on the skin and the face feels amazingly soft after. Sometimes I make a healthy dessert with avocado, I just mix a spoon of chiaseeds, a spoon of cacao, almondmilk and avocado and let it be in a glass in the fridge a few hours and it gets like a chocolate pudding but a healthy one so you can eat as much as you want 🙂

The best thing about this superfruit is that it’s one of the most healthiest to eat as it has healthy fats, lots of potassium (more then bananas), fiber, vitamins and antioxidants.
