Face and Hair

The other day I tried something new for my hair at the hairdresser. It’s called “botox capilar” and it’s kind of a “vitamin/collagen/protein/ hair boost treatment” to make the hair thicker, stronger, increase the volume and repair the hair. It has nothing to do with botox but I guess they call it that because the treatment also rejuvenates the hair. I have to say that my hair actually got much better after the treatment (even though my hair is not much thicker) but after I showered it was so much easier to brush it even without using a conditioner. I can definitely feel the difference myself so I am very happy with the treatment and would definitely like to do one every third month (as they recommend) if it would be possible 🙂

I have also bought a few new products to invest in my skin a bit more since the sun and the cold air has made my skin very dry lately and now when the winter is here I think it’s time to boost it a little. To start with I bought a facemask from bodyshop that I have to say is amazing, it’s called “himalayan charcoal purifying glow mask” (long name) but it really works for my skin even though it actually is a bit burning when I use it and my skin gets a bit red, but the day after it does look a bit more “glowing” just like they promise 🙂 I also bought a face mist from body shop called “C-vitamin” and it’s very useful to just spray a little on the face when it feels dry, especially when you’ve been travelling or spent too much time in front of the laptop, it kind of energizes the skin. Another product I really love is “bio-oil” and it’s very easy to use both on face and body and it actually “reduces” sunmarks etc if you use it everyday for a few months, so I just started to use it for the sunmarks I got in my face when I was pregnant (I got a lot) and hopefully they will be less visible after I use this oil for a while. My last favourite thing is a tea tree oil stick to use when I get spots and it actually take less days to take the spots away with the tea tree oil 🙂 I’m really happy with these new products and it feels good to have some new products that really seems to work for my skin, but, my favourites are still coconout oil, almond oil and the blue nivea creme (that I’ve been using since I was 10) and I also think that good products are not always the most expensive ones 🙂

Brunch

The other day we tried a new brunch place (Aguaribay) that only serves vegetarian dishes. I thought the food was very good for only having vegetarian options, with lots of mixes and flavours, I ordered a spicy (it was a bit too spicy) green curry with rice which was really good even with just vegetables. The place was very cozy and had a nice atmosphere for a Sunday brunch with the girls 🙂

Weekend

I have had such a nice relaxing weekend in the south if Tenerife. Waking up to the sound of waves, fresh sea air and started my days powerwalking with the most amazing view of sea and mountains and “Despacito” on 🙂 The south is more “tropical” I would say then the north, it’s much more sunny and much warmer! Actually it has been so hot that it was almost too hot to even be at the beach under the parasol and I have struggled doing my squats:) We have been eating lots of healthy sea food; fresh tuna, fresh fish, octupus and lots of potatoes and mojo, it’s really the best food there is. I feel so grateful for this week and this holiday 🙂

Weight gain

I have to say that I am really happy for have gaining weight since I came to Tenerife last Friday. When I arrived the scale was on 47.2 kilos in the morning. Today the scale is on….48.6 in the evening. I know it can also depend on the time but anyway I am so happy at least I have gained one kilo!

I have been so frustrated lately trying to gain weight but now I have stopped worrying about it and I think that has also helped a little. However, what I have started doing (with lots of effort) is to eat as many snacks as possible during the day. I go for the 80% healthy and 20% indulgent (as Miranda Kerr suggests). And it actually works better for me 🙂 I love eating healthy and I love all kinds of fruits and veggies, but, as I don’t have very easy gaining weight I cannot just live on healthy stuff so if I feel like a magnum icecream I eat that, or if I feel like chocolate croissant or two, I just eat it without thinking for the moment what I put in to my body whilst before I would probably not eat this much in a day as I have been doing here. I have been very strict to eat something every second or third hour and sometimes I had to force myself even if I’m not hungry at all as I really need to make a effort now to see any results. Another thing is to eat bigger portions, it really makes a difference I guess 🙂

Spanish course

The days goes really fast in Tenerife but at the same time I feel like I have been here a really long time. The week was a bit intense with the Spanish course (which I passed and got my diploma yesterday) 🙂 It was a good experience and I think I actually have learned a lot more then expected in only one week considering that I had class from 09.00 – 11.15 only. It was kind of nice going there everyday and talking Spanish only and talking to new people, having coffee in the cafeteria and then having the afternoon free so I would definitely recommend it. I think I just needed this course to “get back” to my Spanish and I really feel like I did 🙂

Monday

So this morning I had my first Spanish class and I woke up really early getting ready for “school” starting with a cappuccino 🙂 First we had an introduction, then a welcome breakfast for all new students, and the class was pretty intense since we are only two people in my class, so I had to talk a lot all the time which is exactly what I need to improve. My level was C advanced and I really felt that I will learn a lot even though it’s only 5 days. After the class I went to visit the botanic garden since I had an hour to spend before his mum picked me up for lunch and it was really relaxing and beautiful full of “rainforest sounds” and exotic plants.
